Five Must-Do Things Before Christmas

Take a deep breath — we know the holidays are busy. We know you’re scrambling to finish your Christmas shopping and to get everything wrapped. We know you’re trying to find the time to bake enough Christmas cookies to feed a small army. Coming from America’s Christmas Hometown, we get it.

In all the holiday hustle and bustle, let’s not forget what Christmas is really about: spending quality time with friends and family (some who you may not get to see very often) and making unforgettable memories.

Yes, you can sit around the house making memories, OR you could get out of the house and forget all about the gifts, endless wrapping, and cookie baking for a night or two.

Here are five must-do things before Christmas:

Five Must-Do Things Before Christmas
  • Visit the Santa Claus Christmas Store and take the kiddos to visit Santa. With his authentic, snow-white beard and genuinely jolly laugh, the kids are sure to love him and won’t hesitate to share their holiday wishes. Make sure to look at Santa’s schedule here.
  • Enjoy timeless candies and gourmet hot cocoa at Santa’s Candy Castle while the little ones chat with an elf on the North Pole Network. The look on their face will be priceless when they earn their official “Good List” certificate.
  • Stop in the Santa Claus Museum & Village to write a letter to Santa. And don’t forget — if you get your letter in by December 21, you’ll get a response from Santa and his elves! Can’t make it in? Just mail your letter (with a legible return address) to: Santa Claus, P.O. Box 1, Santa Claus, IN 47579. Again, the letters must be received by the museum by December 20.

  • Nothing gets you quite in the Christmas spirit like gazing at pretty light displays. Take the family for a drive through the Santa Claus Land of Lights – Family Christmas Light Adventure. It’s the only light show in the nation that tells a story in lights and storyboards. Every vehicle receives a free photo with Rudolph taken at the Santa Claus Christmas Store.
  • Get your holiday mail stamped with the special Santa Claus postmark –  it’s free! This tradition has been has become one of the most popular holiday activities in the town of Santa Claus.

We’re sure these special, family-friendly activities will help keep the Christmas spirit alive. Just remember: all businesses, sites, and attractions are closed on Christmas Day so make sure to plan ahead!

Happy holidays!
