Walk in Abe’s Footsteps

Abraham Lincoln spent 14 years of his early life in this area of southern Indiana. And when you visit, you can walk in his footsteps!

At Lincoln State Park, you can hike through the same woods where Abe played as a boy and visit the Lincoln Bicentennial Plaza, a monument built in honor of his 200th birthday.

When you visit Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial, you’ll get a glimpse of what Abe’s Indiana life was like. From the Cabin Site Memorial, to the Living Historical Farm, to the gravesite of Abe’s mother, Nancy Hanks Lincoln… Lincoln’s early years are on display!

Lincoln Pioneer Village & Museum invites visitors to step back in time as they tour replica Lincoln-era cabins. Inside the museum, you’ll find artifacts from Lincoln’s life and the county’s storied past.

Other significant sites throughout the area include the Colonel Jones Home, Lincoln Ferry Park, Lincoln Landing, and Huffman Mill Bridge.
